0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Teachers' Required Reading! By Goodrich Noor Abdelrahman's book should be required reading of all teachers! The message is simple yet profound. As a third grade teacher many years ago, I was charged with 42 students who represented all levels on the "smartness" meter. I wish I had had this book or knowledge of its core message at that time. It is important for teachers to take it to heart so that on a daily basis, they can help struggling young students to understand that they are smart in some subjects, and that it's okay if they aren't smart in all subjects. I'm surprised a book like this didn't come out long ago, but thank you, Ms. Abdelrahman, for presenting it in such an engaging way.

By KAREN M KACER This book does a wonderful job in showing elementary aged children that each student has personal strengths and just because a subject doesn't come easy to them doesn't make them smart. My children loved the book, understood the message, and was a great platform to talk with my children about working at subjects that do not come easy to them and knowing they are smart but in different ways from one another. I love children's literature but especially literature which also teaches children vital lessons. I hope the author continues to write more books!

It teaches children the importance of individuality and how every child has their own special strengths when it comes to learning. Each child learns in a different way. A method that works best for one student may not be the best method for another. As a Special Education teacher, this story is a great reminder of the importance of differentiated instruction in school settings.
