A Lesson About Vanity By A Customer The is the delightful tale of a horse named Nitter Pitter who thinks his good looks make him "better" than all the other horses. As a result, they exclude him from their games. After being accidently knocked into a pond one day, Nitter Pitter learns that having friends is more imporant than being beautiful. Like the other books in the 'Serendipity' series, this one teaches an important lesson in a subtle and friendly way.

Harrell Our son absolutely loved the Serendipity books as a child, so we passed down his small collection (12 books) to our granddaughter. I thought it would be fun to add a few books to the series for her, and was shocked to learn that there are now over 70 books in the series! So I picked out another dozen or so for this birthday. And I think "Daddy" will have just as much fun reading them to her! These books have sweet stories, with the most beautiful illustrations by Robin James (just amazing). I believe any child would enjoy them.

The author, Alicia Turner, has done an excellent job adding positive, and quite frankly necessary, messaging all throughout this story. I purchased 3 copies, one for my collection, and 2 copies for my God-daughters. The book touches topics that are relevant to both children and adults in today’s society. The illustration is also absolutely gorgeous! This is an awesome book and my hope is that everyone shares and lives out the lessons from it in everyday life. Pick up a copy as soon as possible - Well Done!

The author has done an amazing job with delivering a sensitive topic in a very clear and child friendly manner. Both the content and illustrations make an absolute great story line to help children deal with the reality of a serious topic. I highly recommend that teachers and social workers find a way to incorporate the message into their daily school sessions.

The idea of mermaids having a sophisticated tea party appeals to memories of myself as a six-year-old having tea with my dolls and instructing them to behave with good manners. This was, after all, my special tea party with my best china. Sally Huss's drawings are just adorable--just like happy, joyous little girls at their best. Also I am so happy to see a multicultural book for little mermaids!Along the say, Sally Huss provides a thoughtful lesson--pour tea in the cup before passing the cup and saucer. Is this not the lesson that you should always fill your vessel with joy before sharing it with those you love? This is a lovely story to be read and reread many times over.

By BookWorm221 Such a fun, cute, lighthearted book, the perfect book to get you to get lost in the story of two teens falling in love for the first time.Abby and Nathan are two sixteen year old pop stars, Nathan is part of a famous band and Abby is just getting started as their opening act in their tour. Needless to say from the moment they meet, there are sparks flying around all over the place, the connection is instantaneous and the both just can't stop it from unfolding, even if they both have other responsibilities first.This is the first book I've read of this series, but they all sound amazing so I might give them a read as well.

By The Tale Temptress I've been a big fan of the Backstage Pass series since the very first book, and have thoroughly enjoyed each installment. I've been eagerly anticipating Nathan's story, because he's the one I felt like I knew the least about. He's more quiet, the youngest, and hasn't really taken center stage, so to speak, in the overall plot so far. This book didn't disappointment.I loved Nathan immediately. He's so sweet and cute. I hated the situation he now finds himself in. All the other guys in the band have girlfriends, so the pressure is on for him to be the "dateable" one, the one people still have a chance with. Thus, he has to go on dates with celebrity girls he isn't even interested in. I know this happens in real life. You know all those celebrity marriages that occur and last a year or less? They were probably PR setups. I felt really bad for Nathan because of this situation, for him to have to hold the entire bag when what he really wants is a more simple girl, down to earth. He finds that in Abby.Abby was so sweet, talented, and what I thought was a perfect match for Nathan. They meet very early in the story,and they had what I would describe as a "meet cute". I won't spoil it for anyone, but I will say that I was on board with their romance from the first few pages. She's got a YouTube following and is auditioning to be the opening act for Seconds to Juliet. Only problem is, once she's there, she's pretty much forbidden ground for Nathan in all respects.I loved the conflict in this story, the way PR people try to dictate a celebrity's every move. And I loved the romance. I can't go into more detail without ruining something for those who haven't read it. But the author did a fabulous job giving this book depth inside a cute story, and for ending out this great series with a wonderful installment. Loved it.

Each book is a standalone with interconnected characters. This book was cute and had some enjoyable moments, but I did have a few things that kept this one from being a five star read for me.With all the guys from Seconds to Juliet pairing off, Nathan Strong is the last single guy in the group. Their manager is working hard to get Nathan to take on the role of single heartthrob. Though LJ wants Nathan to fake a relationship and breakup for publicity, Nathan is actually interested in the new opening act, Abby Curtis. But they both know that if anyone finds out about them it will be bad for both, so Abby and Nathan are forced to sneak around to avoid being discovered. But the more they sneak around and their connection grows, the more they run the risk of losing everything.I liked Abby and Nathan. They were really cute, and I thought they were great together. Nathan is the youngest member of the band, and they all sort of treated him as the younger brother. It was really adorable at times, and I like how they all were as a group. Abby was really sweet and cute as well, and it was really easy to like her. There really is no other way to describe these two but cute, but I really did enjoy them together. They were a bit shy and awkward at times and I found myself swooning at their young love.I will say that this book felt a bit rushed though and I was so over the crap with LJ (Seconds to Juliet's manager). After seeing everything that he has done over the course of this series, it just started to feel over the top and a bit too much like a soap opera for me. The other thing about this book is that it was a bit too predictable as well. I felt like it was definitely geared towards a younger audience, and it seemed to take on similar characteristics to other YA novels I have read. While there were things I liked, I just wanted this one to do some things differently rather than falling into familiar patterns and easy to guess outcomes. It was still cute, as is the entire series, but it was just okay as far as the story went. If you like YA stories and are a fan of boy bands and music, this is definitely a series to check out. But to add to it my daughter loves to read, specifically detective books. This books is a nice little thriller detective ebook. My daughter is 8 and loves it she asked of there was more like it.

25 of 26 people found the following review helpful. Flawed, but very Entertaining story! By Jen Lapa I found this book highly entertaining! Allyson is a very sympathetic character, as is her rather new best friend Beth. The explanation for Allyson’s severe acne and asthma (of the title) was quite entertaining and actually fairly believable, as was the entire concept of the supernatural world that she finds herself a part of. What I did find hard to believe, however, was the fact that the girls are nearly kidnapped by trolls and escaped in part due to Allyson spitting fire at them – and Allyson doesn’t share ANY of this with her mom! And later her Aunt Aggy disappears, leaving her vintage BMW behind, and it doesn’t even occur to Allyson or Beth or anyone, despite other weird things that are going on, that she might have been kidnapped, which she was! Another obvious lapse in reality is when Mr June attacks Allyson on the school grounds, threatens to turn her hide into tack. Instead of being taken to the police to do something in response like file an assault charge against the crazed adult who attacked her, she is instead lead away to the Principal’s office to be reprimanded and given a band-aid.I found some of the characters rather one-dimensional, but overall they were quite interesting and rather believable. John was probably one of my favorite characters! I especially like the scene where John looks at Allyson and winks.Despite the overall good writing and plot, the chapter set at the campground involving the Goblin King, however, was rather confusing, and the entire episode seemed rather pointless. Perhaps it will come in to play more in later in a sequel to the book, as the ending definitely seemed to indicate that there would be some.Despite the items I’ve mentioned, I found the book fairly well written and the storyline inventive and entertaining. I’d definitely recommend it, especially for a lighter read. Action, Humor and Simply a Fun Read By Tonja Drecker Although I loved the cover on this one, after I read the blurb, I wasn't sure I'd like it or not. . .but since I already had it, I figured I might as well give it a go. And I'm so glad I did!This is a modern day fantasy, grounded in the every day world as we know it. Well, except that humans aren't alone. Fantastical creatures--unicorns, dragons, trolls, and so many others--live among us but look so human, no one except for their kind can tell the difference. Allyson is just about to turn fifteen and has never given a second thought to fairy tales or anything of their kind, but when she spits fire and grows scales, her eyes are opened.This is such a fun tale. Within the first pages, a normal, teenage shopping mall excursion turns into an attempted kidnapping with dragons and trolls. Not much time is spent on getting to know Allyson first, but it's not necessary. Her character is sympathetic from beginning on, and her shock about life unfolding around her is a delight to experience right along with her.The plot is stuffed full of action, and poor Allyson not only struggles with her new-found dragonness, but fights off all sorts of creatures who are out to get her. It was easy to get caught up into the story, but hard to put it down. Especially since every time it appeared she and her best friend were getting somewhere, luck would seem to blow up in their faces. But then, the two are a bit reckless and although their intentions are always good, their plans aren't always as solid as they could be. It makes their decisions very believable...well, in so far as a teenage dragon and troll going up again other fantastic creatures in disguise can be considered believable. But there's tons of chases, lots of precarious situations and just the right amount of snippy humor thrown in.Summed up, this is a thrilling and fun ride into a world which is very familiar, but full of fantasy. Anyone into a little more light-hearted but still adventure filled urban fantasy is sure to love this.I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

And it's rather rough on the complexion...Join Allyson as she races across the western USA to save her best friend... in a world where anyone could be a creature of legend.This book was not what I expected and I had a *thoroughly* good time reading it.While it may be categorized as YA, I found myself laughing out loud at the protagonist's internal monologue. It has a bit of cynicism & sarcasm that will definitely appeal to adults (as if the title doesn't give that away already)!Also, it was refreshing to have a story with a female protagonist who is not primarily concerned with finding her "true love," pining over her "true love," or in some sort of contrived love triangle-tangle, etc.I sincerely hope that we see more of this character and this author.
