From the Author When my oldest son was getting ready to lose his first tooth he was full of questions about the Tooth Fairy. Many of which I realized I had no answers to nor did many other parents. Two of the biggest being, "why does every kid seem to get different amounts of money or even gifts?" and how does she get in and out of the house?" I decided to write The Tooth Fairy Story for my kids to answer all these questions. I also created the door that hung in our hallway as if it were always there for him to find the morning after he lost his first tooth. Seeing how much he loved the story and how much magic the door brought to our home, I knew I had to share this story with the world. The book and my kit are meant to be enjoyed by children everywhere. In a world hardened by so many external factors beyond our control, I believe in preserving these sacred rituals and the joy that the belief in this kind of magic brings to our kids. I hope you enjoy this story as much as we do. 

About the Author Lisa was born and raised in the Almaden Valley in Northern California. She is an only child and spent many hours growing up reading and writing stories. In fact, Lisa has been creating stories since before she could write. As a toddler, Lisa would have slumber parties at her aunt's house while her parents had a well-deserved date night. Lisa had a routine with her aunt for each visit which always included creating a story. Lisa would dictate the story and her aunt would write it, then she would illustrate it to take home. Lisa's passion for writing only grew as she got older. Lisa and her husband Paul met and married in California as well. They have two children together. Their boys are Lisa's continued inspiration for her stories. When the boys were very young Lisa began her popular blog, The Native Diaries which is a satirical take on parenting young children in the "Suburban Jungle". Lisa is also working on "The Native Diaries", the book. When their oldest son was getting ready to lose his first tooth he was full of questions about the Tooth Fairy. To help answer his questions, Lisa wrote The Tooth Fairy Story, the first in the Fairy Village Series. She also created a tooth fairy door that she attached to the wall in the hallway outside the boys' bedrooms. The morning after her son lost his first tooth he found a special golden coin and a note that pointed him to the tooth fairy door. Seeing the excitement in his eyes, Lisa knew she had to share this story. As she added to Annabelle's story and details of Fairy Village it became clear to all very quickly that this was not just one book, but a whole series for children of the world.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Terrific By Lisa's Book Reviews Julia Jones is in the 7th grade. She has a best friend named Millie and a crush on a cute guy named Blake Janson. She is active in dance class and pretty good at it too. Life for Julia is going great; it's not perfect, but she feels since Blake decided to join the dance team life is going to get even better. The only thing is a new girl comes to town. She's pretty. She's talented in dance. Perhaps, more so than Julia, but none of that matters much to Julia. Well, at least she doesn't let it show. As a matter of fact, Julia takes a liking to Sara as they have a lot of the same likes and interests. It's all fine and well a new girl showing up sporting all the wonderful clothes and jewelry Julia has her heart set on, and has the same interest in dance, even if Sara may be better, Julia can tolerate that, but when it comes to Blake, that's another story. Julia catches Sara showing interest in Blake and it really concerns her. She could easily lose him to her, as Sara knows just how to turn a guy's head, whether she cares for him or not. Will Sara take over the entire dance team that Julia has worked so hard forming? Will she steal Blake's heart right out from under her very own nose? You'll have to find this out and so much more by reading this book. And then you won't want to stop there, you'll want to continue in the series to follow Julia as her life unfolds. This book and others in series by Katrina Kahler are about real life situations occurring in the life of a middle grade girl; puppy love, friendships, bullying, dreams and wishes, which are perfect for like-aged readers.

I have read books about schools, mean girls, and modern day girls. Take "The Clique" for example. I have read several of those, and I love them. I have also read Dork Diaries. Those are amazing. I was browsing the Kindle store, bored out of my mind. (I can only get free things.) I had seen this book several times, but chosen not to get it, because the cover looked kind of creepy. I enjoyed the illustrations in the book though, even though I have a Paperwhite, and they are not colorful. Tonight I was browsing, and I saw the book. "Hmmmmm....."I said to myself. And then, "Why not?" I got it because it was free, and it seemed kid-friendly, even though I am twelve, and about to turn thirteen. I started the book at 4:57 A.M. I finshed it at 5:43 A.M.I read it in one sitting. It surprised me, because it actually seemed pretty interesting. I am definitely getting the second book, with my monthly freebie thing. I like these books, but would I pay for them? No. There is nothing wrong with them, except for one typo. They are well written. But they are not worth paying for.Go ahead, get the first book. In fact, I WANT you to get it. Pay for the whole set, even. But I wouldn't, even if I was able to. Maybe it is my age. Or my reading level. But I'm in no hurry to get the next one. They are not really that gripping. Besides, I will finish the next one in an hour and a half. I don't think it is worth it.Overall, this book was pretty cool. I think you will enjoy it.Note:· This book is completely appropriate for an eight year old. A seven year old might not understand the wording though.One word that would describe this story is:Entertaining.This is SilverCloud, singning OUT.

Hurney Having never built an app before I was a little off put about how complicated I thought making a game could be. I purchased this book not knowing what to expect but needing something to help guide me along. This turned out to be the right decision, immediately with in the first week I was able to fast-track my understanding of how to put together a fun little app for all to use. This left me a greater appreciation for the understanding and conceptualization process for thinking up ideas to bring to life.For those of you who love using tech in your lives, but do not necessarily have the ability to code in your background - this book is your answer.

However, for someone like me who is not that great with technology and has no coding experience, there are too many resources and I didn't know how to get started. This book is great because it's starts assuming that the reader is an absolute beginner and helps them get started from ground 0. It was a lot of fun following the step by step guides and actually making games that work. I learned enough, even after the first tutorial to make my own modifications and customize the game. Fun.

The heroine's story is told in the first person, while alternating chapters are told in the close third person. Kaylee is living a stress-filled life in a small town. Her little brother is gravely ill, her mother doesn't seem to be doing anything about it, and Kaylee's efforts, to date, have all been well-meant but so misguided (even illegal) that she's up to her eyeballs in trouble. When a new social website appears, and everyone in her high school signs up, she finds herself on it as a last-ditch effort to help her brother. Instead, the website, called NEED, gradually seduces the teens into doing mischief, and the mischief has consequences no one could predict. Who is behind this? Why are people dying? And how is Kaylee getting caught in the net of mayhem and murder? I found my heart pounding as I read along. There are, of course, some YA tropes, such as the inability of adults to understand anything or take control. It's all up to the teens. Overall, I thought this was a truly scary book and well worth reading.

Bristol Since her younger brother, DJ, developed a life-threatening kidney condition, Kaylee has been doing everything she could to find a compatible donor who might save him, even if it means unintentionally alienating many of her classmates and developing a reputation as a drama queen who stretches the truth in order to get what she wants. (Her mother also is quite displeased with her tactics.) Their father might be a compatible donor, except that he has moved out, and no one knows his whereabouts. When Kaylee's only friend, Nate (popular but overshadowed by his athletic older brother in their family) introduces her to a new social networking site for students in their high school, she is interested but skeptical. The site promises to fulfill a "need" of each user, as long as he or she does something for NEED in return. At first, students can get something they need, simply by signing up friends for the site, but soon, after it reaches its peak capacity, NEED begins to request tasks that end up hurting others without explanation. When it looks like NEED has targeted DJ, Kaylee's mother takes him for a visit out of town, leaving Kaylee behind. Since the police don't take Kaylee's theories about what's going on seriously, she is left to piece together the clues herself, with Nate and another classmate. When Kaylee finds herself targeted and framed, presumably to further discredit her, and yet another student's life is placed in jeopardy, she must race against time to discover who exactly created NEED, how to stop them, and if possible, still find a way to get her brother the help he needs.The novel has a lot of strengths including a mystery that must be solved by piecing together multiple narratives (all are in third person, except for Kaylee's) like a jigsaw puzzle. It also boasts a smart, moral protagonist who at the same time often has the believable impulse control of a not quite mature teenager. Kaylee's reaction to her friend who begins to want to be more is unique among teen novel girls her age and refreshing. At the same time, Kaylee is presented at least at first as a possibly unreliable narrator, which adds to the suspense. At the end, the door is left wide open for a sequel, as it's made clear that the heroine has only temporarily stopped the creators of "NEED."

A teen chiller By Neal Reynolds The author states that this is a stand alone thriller, but the ending suggests that she could change her mind and write a sequel. I personally hope it remains a stand alone.This is suspenseful. The premise is that a new social network targets a specific school and promises members to answer their needs whatever they may be. However, those participating are then asked to perform innocent appearing tasks. Naturally, these tasks turn out not to be innocent at all.The book does have a body count. The main character narrates the story in the first person, but a number of other characters are followed in third person narration.It's fast reading and the temptation is to try to read it all in one sitting. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Blah...disappointing book By Pam Very disappointed. My boys love Minecraft and own a couple of other Minecraft books. I thought this would be nice to add to their collection, but when it arrived, I was underwhelmed. It was to be a Christmas gift for one of my boys, but after flipping through it, I decided to just add it to the bookshelf and order a better book. We have the one with the Golden Pear on the front, the red stone book, and the one with the Sword (a hardcover book). All have nice, colorful pages and show a lot of neat Minecraft stuff. This is plain white paper with text. That's it. Very boring and unappealing. Not really worth my time to return...save yourself the hassle and get the ones with the colorful pages.

I only meant to read a few pages, and looked up a couple hours later when I finished.This is the story of a girl trapped in a terrible situation that grows steadily worse. She is the handmaiden to a defiant princess who is in dire circumstances partly because of something the heroine caused to happen. It all got very suspenseful. Although the characters are very different, the background of living gods reminded me of the books by Lois McMaster Bujold where the gods are very close to our side of the world. The writer created a very vivid and strange world, and I really liked the story.

This is one of those very rare children's books that captures a kids attention while amusing the adult reader as well. It is a great addition to any kids book collection, but it's so fun for adults that we actually have our copy on the coffee table. The characters have surprisingly well developed personalities that range widely and keeps us chuckling with smart and ironic text. Reminds me of Shel Silverstein and Crockett Johnson's Ellen's Lion. Get it!

By RosaD I picked up several copies at my favorite bookstore (Books of Wonder!) while visiting NYC and now I'm back to order more online. This is the sweetest Christmas gift for all my nieces and nephews! The pictures are adorable (and so artful for such a young kid), and the writing is hilarious and so creative. My nine year old nephew is planning on handing out copies for birthday presents. Such a fabulous addition to our children's book collection and sure to be beloved by parents as well.

I enjoy science books for kids and tend to gravitate toward them at the library and local book stores, so when I saw this, it piqued my curiosity. I'm glad I downloaded it, as it was a great way to teach my kids about marine science.The book is loaded with information that is presented in a fun and entertaining way for kids, and the writing was easy to understand even for younger children. The photos are big and colourful and made the kids excited to turn each page.This would be a great addition to any school or home library, or just as a gift for the curious little one in your life.This review is based on a complimentary copy from the publisher and provided through Netgalley All opinions are my own.

Meet the creatures of the deep including the ugliest, the toxic terror, the silent assassin, the tentacles tyrant and more. The illustrations in the book are amazing photographs that show these creatures as they really look. There are a lot of interesting facts but it is not for early readers as the vocabulary would be difficult for them. The section at the end of the book "Want to know more" gives a few more facts about some of the creatures. Great for any library or child interested in the sea and it's inhabitants.I received a copy of this book from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I bought it for my 2 1/2 year old son whom has recently decided he LOVES books! No matter the type, size, or even the amount of pictures lol. He also has to have a stuffed animal when he sleeps, first wakes up, is tired, or sick.. His most recent cuddle buddy of choice is a blue raggedy Mickey Mouse. So I thought this little bundle would "kill two birds with one stone" lol. Well I was really impressed with the little Elmo first off.. I was expecting him to be made very cheaply. (Dollar store type material and poorly made) But suprisingly he is made quite well, and he's made of a super soft material! And the book, I was very shocked at how loud the sounds are when you press a button, most are kind of dull or muffled sounding but not this one.. This one is very clear and quite loud actually. And as always I was very pleased with the Amazon' delivery, i recieved it the morning of my estimated delivery date! Now for the cons and the things about this bundle that really disappointed me: Okay, so back to Elmo.. Although he is made very well and out of good material, he is tiny.. Even for my 2 1/2 year old. Compared to "standard" sized stuffed animals he's prob about half that size. Very small, I was expecting "standard" (like around 8 inches from head to legs, not 8 inches from head to bottom of feet) I wear a size 8 in women's shoes and my foot is almost an inch bigger than poor little Elmo. And as you can see Elmo sits evenly beside the book in the picture so yes, the book is quite small also.. I was expecting a "standard" size book also, not a toddler size. But since it was for my toddler I didn't think much of it, that is until I opened it... The book only has a total of 4 pages. A cover, 2 middle pages, and the back.. It would have been nice for at least one extra page. And lastly I was very impressed with the volume of the buttons on the book but I'm wondering if the extra volume will lead to a fast dying battery (which these "watch type" batteries for books like this aren't necessarily expensive but $3 every week will get old rather quickly) plus my son shares a room with his 6 month old brother and was kinda hoping this would be something he could play with in bed until his brother wakes up, but judging by the volume level I think it's probably safer for mommy to read it with him at night and then put it on the top shelf until everyone is awake. Lol. So there's my opinion, just something to think about. It's a nice set for a young child I'd say for around $6 but not quite what I was expecting for double.

The eyes on Elmo are soft and the doll size is perfect for bedtime. As for the book, the sound effects are fun and are interactive with the story.

The Elmo is the perfect size for little hands, and for travel. The sounds on the book work properly, although they are a bit louder than I anticipated. The only thing I would have preferred different is in the manufacturer's packaging - I prefer when toys are completely enclosed in packaging, thus eliminating possible contaminants from warehouse, shipping, other customers etc. This item is left open so that you can try out the sounds on the book. Again, that is just my personal preference, and the lack of packaging does not seem to have affected the items.
