This book refers to the Great Barrier Reefs and some coral reefs, including some of their living creatures. This is a book that we will be able to use again and again. The facts are clearly written in a way that they are easy to understand but do come off as a bit dry but that is easily fixed in the manner in which you read the book. Coral reefs are made up of live organisms, these organisms are tiny little animals called Polyps. Actually this is a very informative book despite being only a few pages long. It has good images and I like how they diversified and covered several unique coral species. As this book has beautiful, full colored, high detailed, photographs/pictures you may want to share with your kids and/or students as they can serve as point for further discussions or a way to develop language skill by promoting the children to express themselves about what they see and understand by looking at the photograph or picture. It is a great little book that is delivered in bite size pieces for young children to understand and enjoy. Each page features a fact and a pertinent picture. These are a great starting point for a deeper conversation that you can tailor to their age and curiosity. Beautiful photographs and short references about the Coral Reefs, Sea Anemones, Clownfish, Sea Urchins, Seahorse and Sea Turtles are well depicted on this book with high definition photographs in full color. I recommend reading the Kindle version on a computer or color tablet to get the full effect of the color pictures. We love Speedy Publishing Children’s book series as they usually come with excellent photos and basic references that are quite suitable for the underage, for those small family members at home, for those parents who love to teach their children at home and this type of books serve well for teaching purposes at school too.This book refers to the Great Barrier Reefs and some coral reefs, including some of their living creatures. Coral reefs are made up of live organisms, these organisms are tiny little animals called Polyps. By Tiara S I am a home school teacher of a five year old and use this book and several others from Baby Professor as part of our curriculum. This book is a short read that offers plenty of opportunity to expand on vocabulary. I assisted my five year old in reading the book, then took the words that were not yet in his vocabulary, gave him the definition, and used those words in his spelling lessons. He also enjoys attempting to read the books to his younger sisters and brother, showing them the photos, and telling them what he learned. I would recommend this book and all others from Baby Professor to any parent who plays an active role in their child's learning. I received this Kindle read at no cost too which is always a plus for a home school teacher!
