About the Author Caden Dyess-Osborn, the seven-year-old author of Blake the Snake, loves to run, jump, play any kind of ball, wrestle and catch snakes with his older brother and sister and feed the horses that live near his home. He's not a fan of reading but loves to tell stories. He told this one to his grandmomma, who helped him write it down for you to enjoy.

Perfect for young readers - bold colorful artwork and simple theme By sherry howry The bold, colorful drawings and the simple theme make this a perfect book to share with your favorite beginning reader or those who are having problems with reading in school. It is short enough that even a reluctant reader can finish it in one sitting.I ordered this and thoroughly enjoyed listening to my granddaughter read it to me. She is a "reluctant reader" who generally has to be forced to complete her daily reading assignment. It was heartwarming to watch her face and listen to her laugh as she followed the colorful little snake's adventure as he searched for a new friend. Upon hearing that this young author is currently working on a second book featuring Blake, she asked me to get it for her when it becomes available. Coming from someone who can be forced to tears during her reading, this is high praise indeed.
